Citing Books and E-Books in APA

The Purdue Online Writing Lab (OWL) is a great source for APA citation support with formatting quotations, endnotes, and footnotes. Indent the second and subsequent lines. 

Book

Author, A. A. (Year of publication). Title of work: Capital letter also for subtitle. Location: Publisher.

Example:

Linzey, A. (2009). Why Animal Suffering Matters: Philosophy, theology, and practical ethics. New York: Oxford University Press.

 

E-Book: For references to e-book editions, be sure to include the type and version of e-book you are references (e.g., "[Kindle DX version]"). If DOIs are available, provide them at the end of the reference.

Example:
