About Course Reserves

Course reserves are an extension of the classroom. Reserve materials are usually in demand by many students over a short period of time and must be checked out for only a few hours or days. The service also allows faculty to provide students with access to items not in the library’s collection, such as personal books and audiovisual materials.

Course Reserve Guidelines

  • Course Reserve Material Form must be completed and submitted to the Circulation Manager (slaforce@norwich.edu).
  • Norwich University’s Copyright Guidelines must be followed. Please consult with Greg Sauer (ext. 2175 or gsauer@norwich.edu), if you have any questions regarding Copyright Law compliance.
  • Course Reserves are covered under the Kreitzberg Library privacy guidelines. We cannot disclose who has checked out or not checked out course reserve materials.
  • Items are removed from reserves at the end of each semester. Library items will be returned to the stacks and personal items will be returned to you via inter-departmental mail unless otherwise communicated with the Circulation Manager.
  • We are unable to reserve interlibrary loans and bookstore rentals.
