Private Companies

Private companies are not publicly traded and not required to file detailed financial information with the SEC.  Finding in-depth information on a private company can be challenging.

Try pulling pieces of information from multiple sources

  • Estimated revenue data and employee number from Hoover's and LexisNexis Academic 
  • News stories from Business Source Premier and LexisNexis 
  • Other information on the Web.

All 50 states make some level of private business incorporation information available online. In a few instances only limited information (such as name availability) is retrievable.
