The Kreitzberg Library is pleased to offer NU faculty, staff, and current students complimentary access to the digital edition of The New York Times.
Paid subscribers: If you are attaching the Academic Pass to your active NYTimes.com account, you must cancel your Digital Access subscription before you register for access through the NU site license. See below for more information.
Use the link below to get started:
Enter your anticipated graduation year. Your pass is valid through December 31 of the year you select.
Passes for faculty and staff are valid for four years. You will need to repeat the registration process to renew your pass once it expires.
If you've previously registered a free (limited) account and want to take advantage of the Academic Pass, click on "Already have an account? Log in here" on the Academic Pass landing page, and log in using the email address associated with your NYTimes.com account.
Once you have completed the one-time registration using the link above, you can sign in to your account at nytimes.com from any device and location.
If you already have an active paid subscription of your own and would like to switch to using the Academic Pass, you must cancel your subscription before you can claim a pass through the NU site license. However, you can keep any premium subscriptions such as Games or Cooking while only canceling your Digital Access subscription.
If you choose to cancel, use the link below to connect with a NYTimes Customer Care agent:
Once your existing subscription is canceled, follow the process above to claim your free pass and then log in with your existing NYTimes.com username and password. If you were already using a mobile app, it should continue to work without requiring any changes after you claim your pass.
After you have registered for your account, you can download free NYTimes.com mobile apps for Apple iOS or Android and log in using your NYT account for access.
Basic digital access through the NYTimes Academic Pass does not include NYT Cooking, Games, The Athletic, or Wirecutter.
If you need help with registration, contact NYTimes support at edu@nytimes.com or call 1-800-698-4637 for assistance.
