Articles with a stable URL can be linked in D2L Brightspace. Links to library resources must include a prefix that routes the user through the library's proxy server. If this prefix is missing, students will not be able to access the resource from off campus.
The prefix is:
https://library.norwich.edu/login?url=
Many library databases include this prefix for you with the article permalink, but in some cases you must add it yourself.
When accessing resources from off campus, links behave a bit differently. If you see "dashes" in the URL followed by library.norwich.edu, (for example, https://www-somedb-com.library.norwich.edu), it isn't necessary to also add the proxy prefix.
Some of the Library's subscriptions require individual users to sign up for an account before they are able to access content, so their links don't require a proxy. These subscriptions include:
Activate your pass for free basic digital access to NYTimes.com and NYTimes mobile apps. See our Access NYTimes guide for all the details.

Some of our vendors do not support permalinks. These include:
Find full-text primary source records and images from thousands of genealogical collections and databases. This resource includes access to historical census, immigration, military, court, land, tax, probate, and vital records, as well as directories.
This guide does not cover Open Access resources, as they do not require the library's proxy to access them. If you are unsure if a proxy should be included in your link, feel free to email library@norwich.edu for assistance.
