Please note that interlibrary loan of books is only available for ON CAMPUS students, faculty, and staff. Borrowers who are unable to visit campus in person to pick up and return ILL materials are encouraged to contact a local library for assistance with obtaining books not held by the Kreitzberg Library.
Many libraries are not lending out physical materials because of COVID-19 protocols, so requests may take longer than usual to be fulfilled, or we may be unable to borrow the materials you need.
For the Fall 2020 semester, all physical ILL materials issued to students must be returned by Monday November 16. To help ensure that materials are returned on time, we will stop accepting ILL requests from students for books and other physical items on Monday November 2. Please plan accordingly! On-campus faculty and staff will be able to request physical items after November 2 via web form.
As an alternative to ILL for physical materials, we will try to secure electronic access or purchase materials for our collection when possible. If an item is not held by our library, you can email email@example.com to suggest the library obtain a copy for the collection.
You can search beyond the Kreitzberg Library's collection by changing the default "Held By" checkbox to Libraries Worldwide in your Current Search settings in WorldCat Discovery.
When you find a book held by other libraries worldwide that you'd like to request, click the title to open a pane with the book's detailed record. Click the Request through Interlibrary Loan button in the Check Availability section to initiate your request.
The resulting screen may prompt you to choose an authentication service. NU students, staff, and faculty can use the network account login (i.e., your norwich.edu Single Sign-On account).
The system will automatically fill in the request form for you. Verify the details of your request, add optional notes for ILL staff, then click Submit Request.
