Get Started with Business and Management Resources

This guide will help you learn how to search the major databases for finding scholarly articles on business and management.

About Business Source Premier

Business Source Premier is the industry's most used business research database and provides full text coverage and searchable cited references.

Conducting a Search

The screenshot examples below search for articles about how to place value on intangible assets in organizations.

  • I used quotes to search for words together as a phrase (i.e. "intangible assets").
  • Click the green Search button when you're done entering your keywords.

Put your keywords into the search boxes. I put intangible assets in quotation marks to search for the word together as a phrase. Click the green search button to start searching.

Reviewing Search Results

As you can see below, our search found 3,231 results.

  • Select Peer Reviewed from the options on below the search bar to show just scholarly journal articles in your search results.
  • Results are sorted by relevance with the most relevant articles featured at the top of the list of results.
  • To read the article in full, click on the Access Options or Access Now button (depending on what is available for that article).
    • Access Options will appear when the article is available in multiple formats in the database, or if you need to check for full text in another database. If you are only interested in articles that are available in full text in the database, select the Full Text option from below the search bar.
