With Creative Commons, copyright holders can tell the world how their materials may be used while retaining their intellectual property. CC licenses have four elements: attribution, derivation, commercial-use, and sharing alike. Each license contains a variation of these elements that details how the resource can be used.

If you see a Creative Commons license included in the document, we have to follow the restrictions listed in the license.
If you are not sure what is allowed under the Creative Commons License or the document doesn't list the terms in text, visit the Creative Commons website and look for that particular license.
We could put this document in the classroom as a PDF but we would have to be sure to include the language of the Creative Commons license in the classroom too.
Although documents will have a Creative Commons license mentioned within them, it's also good to check the website to see if there's a license that applies to all content from that website.
