Library Research Lesson: Intro to Public Admin Research

This research lesson will look at how to develop a research strategy and gives examples of searching in databases.

Welcome!

Hi everyone and welcome to the library research lesson for an Introduction to Public Administration Research. I’m Melissa, the Online Learning & Scholarship Librarian, and in this lesson we’ll be looking at developing a research strategy.

I’ll also do some search examples with keywords in multiple databases and show some strategies will generally work for all databases you’ll encounter throughout your program.

We will also look at the difference between scholarly and popular sources and what makes both a journal article and a book scholarly.

Towards the end, you’ll find information on getting help from the library.
